On Facebook today I was trying to get my head round the current parts situation and thought I should summarise it here.
The legacy MG Rovers and the NAC MG TF are catered for by xpart.

Xpart is still based in Desford and part of a US company, but now that company is "Neovia" as Caterpillar sold 65% of the Logistics operation to private equity in 2012.

The "multipart" deal with the Chorley-based successors to the Leyland operation is very difficult to track down, as it seems the brand is actually "TVS" - the parent brand.

(their 2011 press release)
Technically speaking, MG6 and MG3 use a different diagnostic system (T5) from the legacy xpart cars (T4).
It has been announced that all MG Motor Dealers should also be xpart stockists, but the same is not true the other way round (xpart stockists do not have TVS parts). Anecdotally, the cost of buying diagnostic gear up front is likely to be an issue for whichever national service chain is chosen. I imagine the cost of fitting out a chain is into seven figures.
It has been announced that MG Motor are planning 150 outlets including over 50 dealers and a network of service centres. http://www.mguk.org/t957-july-2012-william-wang-planning-150-outlets
So it seems if you want OE parts for MG6 or MG3, you have to visit your nearest dealer or get them by mail order (e.g. from Brown & Gammons)

MG Motor UK awards parts contract to TVS Supply Chain Solutions
June 2, 2011
With the superb MG6 sports fastback now in the showrooms and attracting a lot of interest, MG Motor UK Limited has announced its chosen partner for its new aftermarket parts business.
TVS Supply Chain Solutions, the Lancashire-based logistics specialist, has been awarded the contract following a comprehensive tendering process set out by MG parent company, Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC).
Technically speaking, MG6 and MG3 use a different diagnostic system (T5) from the legacy xpart cars (T4).
