    Meet the MG GT for the Chinese car market

    Spy shots showing the new MG GT in China, parked inside the exhibition center for the looking Chengdu Auto Show where it will officially debut tomorrow.  The MG GT looks like a fastback but is in fact a sporty sedan, based on the same platform as the MG5 hatchback and the Roewe 350 sedan.

    Power will come from a 109hp 1.5 and a 129hp 1.5 turbo, and from a brand new GM-sourced 1.4 turbo with 140hp and 200nm, which will be the top-of-the-line engine. Price will start around 120.000 yuan and end around 150.000 yuan. The MG GT will be launched on the Chinese car market just before the end of this year, and it will go on sale in the U.K. in June 2015.

    That's very specific - June 2015 for the UK. Interesting!

    The lower, outer corners of the rear bumper look huge in white.

    Don't know what the point is without it being MG Motor. I wonder how they define "launch"? The wraps came off the 3 in June 2013 and the press saw it in August/September, but the first punters got theirs in October...

    Well I thought that - 'Summer 2013' was the MG3 but I think they were rather bounced into that by Clarkson's review of the MG6. I imagine a more accurate and planned launch this time.
