The Roewe SUV still has it's rear badge disguised, but the rest is uncovered:

Currently rumoured to be due for release in the middle of next year. It's taken a long time to get this far, but it is now looking fairly complete.

Maybe it will make an appearence at the Guangzhou Auto show...

that actually looks pretty good, and it's so close to series production that you can't play LSD chess on the bonnet.

I like the coachlines. Only the Toyota looks anything like it.

Where might it be built? Shanghai? (Is the factory there called Lingang?)

Are stylish women the key target market for the Roewe SUV as with say VWs here?

Well it does look quite like a Ssangyong Kyron if you park them side by side, maybe that's not too obvious when they are not parked side by side though...

It is due to be assembled in China, not quite sure where. I suspect many parts will be shared with the Kyron so made in Korea, the engines look likely to be SAIC Kavachi engines. Need to wait for the details to be sure.

The stylish women may need to be western women or it may be a little on the large side, then again they will probably have a driver!

I'd suggest using magnetic chess pieces, but there is no board to play on!

I had sort of thought that it looked a bit Korean but didn't want to detract from what is quite a nice design for an SUV by saying it looked like something else! (first rule of de Bono - always see things for what they are...)

    Here's a Ssangyong Kyron:

I was looking around for "large SUVs" today and decided these are largely 4WD premium cars - the X5 is probably the leader, then various Land-Rovers, the Cayenne, the Touareg etc.

At that size, if the car isn't 4WD, it's generally a 7-seater people carrier like the Citroën C8 or the Ford Galaxy.

How can this 2WD SUV be marketed? like a Talbot Matra Rancho? how would it fit with MG?

you're telling me, hasn't Jenson retained the steering wheel from the Brawn in the McLaren because he wouldn't know which button to press otherwise?

Oh my word. I hope this only for China too. If this is badged an MG, they will be a laughing stock. They need to get a new TF in production ASAP!

Just noticed that some of the buttons on that wheel have indents while other have humps - must be so that the blind can find the right one pirat

They are also all big enough to be able to use when wearing gloves, maybe it's targeted at farmers pig alien
