Picture of the day

This thread is for posting the Picture Of The Day.

At most only one picture is to be posted each day please, comments on that picture are welcome.

The picture should be related in some way to MG, even if only indirectly.

Pictures or links to pictures may be PMed to me for posting if prefered.

This image was released by SAIC recently (15th October) during the visit of Chen Hong to the SAIC-GM pavilion at the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. The image appeared under the message:

"As of October 14, 2010, the pavilion has welcomed 1,950,000 visitors"

and was titled:

"Kiichiro Toyota: it has left me a great impression."



Now I was just thinking what a great honour it must be for SAIC's President Hu Maoyuan to receive such a compliment from the famous founder of the great Toyota Motor Corporation and the inventor of Just In Time manufacturing when it struck me that Mr Toyoda looks to be in excellent health for someone born in 1894, especially as he died in 1952!

Taking another look at the image, I believe it is Mr Shoichiro Toyoda, the son of Kiichiro and the father of the current president of the Toyota Motor Corporation, Mr Akio Toyoda.

Of course it was Shoichiro that transformed Toyota from a Japanese car manufacturer into the multi-national business it is today; maybe Mr Hu will follow his example.

Was the MG6 passing by chance I wonder ... and the MG7 behind it!

The MG Zero Concept car accompanied by Anthony Williams-Kenny, MG Design Director, Shanghai Motor Technical Centre UK.

The MG Zero will be unveiled to UK audiences during the MPH show at London’s Earls Court from November 4-7 2010 and the NEC Birmingham from November 11-14 2010.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the MG Zero in the metal next week.
