If I read that correctly, the MG 750 is being assembled in Mercedes' Egyptian factory.

Has anyone heard of John Johnston? He is a director of "SAIC Motor UK Ltd" with a background in design. That company seems to be a UK arm of SAIC and a separate (holding?) company from SAIC Motor UK Technical Centre Ltd. I have found several other directors, who are all engineers, but Dave Lindley (MD [boss =~CEO] of SMTC) is not a director of it.
Actually, is MG Motor UK Ltd ultimately a subsidiary of NAC in China for the export licence? If so, you'd think some tax planning was in order with loadsa UK losses around ATM and wondering where the profits will come. Ongoing, having the costs of SMTC legitimately offsetting sales income - at least in part - would seem sensible.
