Do oyu think they will show it at the Geneva motorshow?! I hope so!

Maybe with the announcement of their advancement into the main European markets.

It would be fantastic to see MG at Geneva. Although I doubt SAIC will be keen on paying for a stand at a show outside China sadly.

Always wonder why no Europe show
At least then they can feel what public thinks of the new MG range
But they just not very interested lol

As I recall fewer and fewer manufacturers are keen on paying for stands at motor shows, as these are extremely expensive.

The GS has got a lot of attention in the motoring press as it is purely from the Chinese motor shows.

But if you don't show your self
No one will know your there
MG have no clue what to expect from Europe sales
And by keep hiding
They will never know

As the GS may be leading the sales drive in mainland Europe then a launch at Geneva would seem an ideal springboard.

Even more interesting are the new engines in the GS. A recent Autocar test of the Chinese version mentions that the 166bhp turbo 1.5l motor is the SAIC/GM engine and so the first use of this new jointly developed engine family that we have not heard much about for a while.

It would certainly explain why 1.5l models of the GS are being tested in the UK as this will be the one with the manual 6 speed 'box (the 2.0l being mated to a '7 speed dry clutch auto box').

So its the 1.5l petrol GS for the UK then, (plus obligatory 1.9TD for Europe) until they can justify importing the 2.0l auto..  

Even bigger question is : with this new 166bhp 1.5l find itself in MG3? ...probably not until the Chinese decide they want it as the development cost for UK and Euro market only will unlikely to be justified. Pity, my MG3 could easily handle an extra 60bhp!

MG are going to next year's May London Motor Show.

I would expect that to be the date of the unveiling of the GS.

An iconic British brand meets an iconic British show
MG Motor UK is pleased to announce it is the first volume manufacturer to confirm its attendance at the new London Motor Show.
MG will be displaying its latest model range at the Battersea Park show in May 2016.
Matthew Cheyne, Head of Sales and Marketing for MG, said: “We’re really excited to announce our attendance at the London Motor Show. It’s great to see a motor show return to the UK and we’re thrilled to be part of it.
“We see it as a fantastic opportunity to showcase our latest range and interact with the public. We really hope that more manufacturers will follow and the show will be up there with the likes of Geneva and Paris as a platform for launching new and exciting brands and models.”
Those attending the motor show will see MG’s latest range in the central display area in Battersea Park. Tickets are £13 and the event runs from Friday 6 May until Sunday 8 May.
