MG3 2016 MY - "A great car made better"

The MG3 2016 MY (model year), which will be available to buy next week, offers customers better fuel consumption, lower tax and an updated personalisation range; which includes the launch of new combinations and roof colours. The supermini, which now benefits from a more economical 124g/km of CO₂ and a stop-start EU6 engine, also comes with a new chrome grille to complement the MG family face.

Customers can choose from the four models available, all priced as nicely as the car itself: MG3 3Time (from £8,399); MG3 3Form (from £9,599); MG3 3Form Sport (from £9,899); MG3 3Style (from £10,499); and MG3 3Style Lux, which comes with the addition of leather seats (from £10,999).

So Time continues. Style and Style Lux list go up £500 - Form and Form Sport up £300.

Excellent, just what the dealers and customers want and great to see that MG are not resting on their laurels with the 3 ..

Only drawback is that my '14 reg' 3Style Lux will probably take a drop in value next week making the 'cost to change' more.. perhaps I will hold out for the full facelift and NGE engined models in 2017..

well, I'm buying a 2015 MY one now - can't resist the £2,000 trade-in!

You wont regret it! Mine is excellent apart from one or two occasional rattles and quite alot of road noise on some surfaces - but apparently the recent 2015 ones are better.
The £2000 trade in is made up of £1500 from MG and £500 from the dealer for your car - when I asked to trade our old Tino on this deal they only offered me the £1500 MG contribution!

Surprised that the 'Stuck on Blue' dark blue and Cherry Bomb' dark red colour options appear to be no longer available on the 2016 model .. blue is still a popular colour (14% of cars sold in 2014 were blue according to SMMT) - and the competition still seem to offer it - I've seen ads for the Seat Ibiza and Peugeot 208 this week both featuring blue cars. Hopefully it is a glitch on the MG3 configurator and not a glitch in their product planning.

No, I think the dark blue is being discontinued along with the Cherry Bomb. Certainly a signature colour on a Peugeot.

On the straw poll of 3s I did in March, Stuck on Blue was 11% and Cherry Bomb was 8%. I saw no Smokey Blues though Red Rose was 17%.

Coloured cars have very low availability with other manufacturers. Look at the 6 where the only actual colour you can have now is red - on the TSE!

Yes the white, black, grey and red colours offered on the 6 accounts for 68% of the colours of all cars sold in the UK in 2014 according to the SMMT survey, with 22% of all cars sold being white.
However, I do hope MG offer a few more colour options for the GS - even though the majority of new model Quasqui's I have seen recently have been white, black, red or grey..!
