I am far from convinced it will look like this, but you never know:

a police TF? How do they arrest anyone? tell them not to mess with the radio controls? and have they left the rear boot open?

It's a rapid response vehicle, if they need a people carrier then they call on the MG7 or more likely the Nanjing special vehicles armoured trucks!

And anyway, unless the soundtrack is "1 2 3 4 5" I'm not going to be able to translate it (and even that sounds really rude to me! )

I googled a line from the lyrics: the song is "Deutschland" by "Die Prinzen" - what an odd choice!

The words about flying to Thailand / only German cars are any good come up while the camera is showing the driver's perspective at 01:40... *slap*

I'm glad it says "Police" in the Western European alphabet as I do not know those Chinese characters. I can't read Chinese, so those who can will excuse me for thinking *smurfette* *X-wing fighter lands on picnic table*.

And at 02:40 do we realise that we were in an MG dealership all the time with two MG7s?

(oh yes, the "open rear boot" is clearly a "Milk Tray chocolates carrier" to transport a heart-shaped box of chocolates to "let her heart beat faster" )

I think the notes are a hoot TBH. Germans don't see "McLaren", since the days of Häkkinen they've only seen "Mercedes".

And "You Bet!" is translated literally (inaccurately) as "Wanna Bet?" in the original...

It could be worse. In the autobiography of Wolfgang Flur from Kraftwerk he references the film "Short Circuit" (as a(n ex-) robot) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Short_Circuit - in German, this is called "Nummer 5 Lebt" (Number 5 is Alive) and the translator has no clue - but he also mentions a concert in "Warschau" in the English translation...clue - the capital of Poland!

Noticed that my local dealer had an advert on the front page of the motoring section of the local paper today. That's the first advert from them I've seen.

I note too that the cigarette lighter is not a shiny chrome affair, unlike the LE500..

As for promoting the TF, I just had a letter from the dealer with an insert from the local MG club!

Forgot to mention that the dash is trimmed in leather too, not sure if that can be seen from my picture

Hello Nicole!

The TF was the first modern MG assembled under Chinese ownership of the British MG factory at Birmingham. This little modern classic is out of production now, though we in Britain can still pick up some low-mileage used ones.

At present, what is leaving Birmingham is the MG6 GT fastback and Magnette saloon (sedan) (the GT is the blue car that looks like the dragon is going to land on it). Currently the models all run on petrol (gasoline) but a diesel engine is to follow in March.

Later this year, the MG6 will be joined by the smaller MG3 ("softroader" version XROSS is the orange car between the TF and the 6).

Left-hand drive models are already available across South America and in a total of over 30 countries.

It promises to be an exciting year.
