10 with MG3s - Peru, Aruba, Dominican Republic, Ghana, Nigeria, Algeria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Laos, China

plus 23 others selling MGs now - Chile, Brazil, Uruguay, Panama, Senegal, Morocco, Sudan, South Africa, Oman, UAE, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iran. Iraq, Israel, Cambodia, North Korea, Belarus, Ukraine, UK

and 1 where they will come soon (MG6s to New Zealand).

Add Vietnam where MGs seem to be already and Australia where they will be soon and you get 36 before adding the new EU countries.

Aruba - part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands located on the west side of the Atlantic.

Seems a fairly random selection of countries only missing out North America and Western mainland Europe both of which have lots of regulations to pass, although so does Austrailia which they are sorting out.

I agree, it seems very strange to deliver cars to Belarus but not Lithuania. The 36 places seem very far apart - and Egypt, Sudan, Syria, Iraq, Iran, and NORTH KOREA! it's quite a list!

I don't expect many other companies have access to sell in North Korea, most Chinese companies don't have export licenses and most other countries have trade bans!

It's probably not a big market though with only around 20,000 cars on the roads and several domestic manufacturers!

Have you checked sales figures in these countries? Very useful site: www.bestsellingcarsblog.com
I have found MG sales only in: UK, China, Chile, Ukraine, Israel. That's it.. Either they don't sell cars in other countries either their figures are extremely low.

P.S. what Rover and MG has to do with sales in Japan 2012??

They certainly sell cars in Kuwait, Algeria, the Dominican Republic, Peru, Uruguay, Panama, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Laos... I think Nepal is the one place they were announced and withdrew. Plus there were four(?) 550s registered in Poland once...

Subin Jagdish from Kuwait is selling cars and says Ghana is doing quite well.

Private imports? What are they importing?

Well, the Rovers aren't factory imports what with Rover having been dead for eight years. I know of one personal import MG6 from the West Midlands to Japan.

In a lot of countries they only publish the top 10 or top 40 best selling models so MG doesn't appear, and a lot more countries they don't bother to count.

China is on their lunar new year spring break so we are still awaiting January figures!

Good news from New Zealand though - as a percentage of the total motor sales for the country, MG did better than the UK, however that was still only 4 in January.

I have actually revisited the dealer numbers on a spreadsheet. I make it 39 countries now including Vietnam, New Zealand, Uruguay and Colombia (40 with Australia due to join them soon) and these models are available in this number of countries:

MG3: 21
MG3 XROSS: at least 12
MG350: 22
MG5: 14
MG550: 21
MG6 Magnette/Sedan/Saloon: 9
MG6 GT/Liftback/Hatchback: 21
MG750: 10 or 11.

Obviously 350, 550 and 750 are Roewes in China along with E50 and 950 which are China only.

Iran has a professional-looking website.

However, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq are all down as having a Syrian-based importer - and I expect other issues may be on their mind. Similarly, I don't see photos of MG signage or MG on the websites of Senegal, Morocco, Sudan, or Oman. (There are no cars from those countries in the above).

If you press the table button (button 14) on the toolbar at the top of editing the post and chose a table size of 40 vertical and enough horizontal to cover all the models than it will create the table for you and you can just fill it in. The last button on the toolbar swaps between editing modes, in one mode you can see the table cells and you just type into them, in the other mode you see all the tags and it's almost impossible to fill in!
Seems to work OK but it's not easy to add extra rows or columns so make sure you have enough to start with. It is possible to add rows and columns in the tag view but will be much easier if you create a few extra to start with.

I had seen that as a way of doing it! After all, a girl who worked for me used to like writing out webpages rather than using a GUI-type editor such as MS Frontpage (way back when). However, she couldn't spell <center> lol...

Looks very good to me, just a few thoughts that you are welcome to ignore:

If it helps, you can use html <> tags instead of the [] ones.

Well this information isn't 100% correct and you will need to revise everything at least one time per month to keep information actual.

Belarus has only MG 350 model (8 cars in two cities) and 4 more 350 are arriving.

It would be another largely empty column like 950...

I think as Martinkas points out anything like this is a devil to maintain. Having it sortable by region helps to compare it with the official version http://www.saicmg.com/english/guide/dealerquery.php (although that omits Australia, which is not yet trading, and Vietnam and Colombia which I think are!)

Are you saying Belarus has sold only eight 350s and four more are due? The website shows MG3, MG5 and both kinds of MG6 as well. http://www.mgmotor.by/

There are only photos of 3, 5 and 6, but when you press on model, for example 3, then press "MG 3 в наличии" (MG 3 in stock") or "MG 3 в пути" (MG 3 on the way) there are no cars, only 350 has full list with current cars with prices.

P.S. i also found comment on that blog by user "MGBelarus": "In 2011 people themselves bought 12 MG cars (6,3,350) from Lithuanian distributor". Well, I have never heard anything about lithuanian distributor which sells cars there. Strange...
