I wonder if they can match the Chile sales figures over the next few months...

I don't think you realise just how large sales are going to be.

I do hope that Saic will be be able to produce enough cars

    to match the demand.Very Happy

Ahh, well once production ramps up I am hoping they will match the Chile market share Wink

I think they will need more engine choice before they can go much further than that!

Just looking at his website, he seems to have a selection of them, including some decent colours instead of gray and grey!

Crumbs! If all dealers take that many then sales will be VERY impressive this month!

But seriously - when did any dealer take that many cars in one go from MG since 2005?? Cheers

The site says there is a choice of colours in 3 STYLE LUX, 3 STYLE, 3 FORM SPORT, 3 FORM and 3 TIME. They can't all be on site - you can get anything by customer order!

Hi Windy, he did not say how many he had sold, but did say he had sold quite a few.

Also said he had many people showing great interest in the car.

He seemed to be very enthusiastic about the cars future, and

even talked about the forthcoming new engines. I was also

invited to have a coffee and a further chat. even though

he new that i was only interested in Automatics.Very Happy Very Happy

An automated manual exists in several other markets, I guess they just need to put it through the official emissions tests etc to sell it in the UK. I wonder how many MG3 they need to sell before they will put the auto on sale?

The automated manual seems well liked by the owners and unlike most automatics doesn't waste fuel compared to the manual so may sell well in the UK to those with a low budget and many who need an auto do have a low budget...

There's clearly a big new improvement coming up for MG5 but not MG3 - which is technically different?

No auto on Guy Jones' radar:

Guy Jones said ”There are plans to extend the range of engines. I think people are aware of our joint venture with General Motors, but I can’t confirm anything today.” He also confirmed that there are no plans to offer an automatic version of the 3. Automatics in this sector, said Guy, are something of a premium and MG currently does not have the volume to offer these premiums.

The dual clutch transmission would make the car a fair bit more expensive though.
