I've just read a "first drive" report I can't find on-line.
The Polo facelift will initially have six engines in Germany:
3-cyl, 999cc, 60PS: €12,450 (~£10,400 with no radio, ~£800 extra incl. aircon?)
3-cyl, 999cc, 75PS: €13,250 (~£11,000 with no radio, ~£800 extra incl. aircon?)
4-cyl, 1197cc, 90PS: €15,975 (~£13,300)
4-cyl, 1197cc, 110PS: €17,675 (~£14,700)
plus two 3-cylinder 1.4 diesels with over 80mpg official.
All the petrol engines return 55-60mpg official.
The basic model has 15" (steel) wheels, split rear seat back, double floor boot(?) and remote central locking, but no radio. I see a large number of options including satnav (€1,035+).
The car will have low VED, though I see the predecessor is now available new at 20% off! Glad I didn't buy an 85PS four-cylinder last year!
