It has been announced that the MG6 will be listed towards the end of this year rather than the anticipated next year listing. It remains to be seen when deliveries will start.
The MG 6 fastback coupe, based on the Roewe 550 chassis will have two engine options, the 1.8L and 1.8T Kavachi engines currently used in the Roewe 550.
There will be two versions of the car available, the Chinese and the Foreign versions. The Foreign version is to be introduced into the Europe market at an undisclosed date.
The Roewe N1 has now entered the stage of preperation for mass production at the Nanjing Pukou A-Class production base, it is to be listed next year. The majority of the production equipment is now in place and is being commissioned.
There are expected to be a number of differences between the concept (shown at the Shanghai Show) and the production versions. It is now expected to recieve the new dual clutch gearbox that SAIC have been developing in conjunction with Borg-Warner. Some of the 3G functions of the concept are expected to be retained and will include a new 3D menu system. Some news reports also mention a night vision system...
On July 1st, MG released a new version of the MG7 L - the long wheelbase version of the MG 7.
The new version uses the 1.8 Turbo engine which gives both improved fuel efficency and a lower cost than the original 2.5V6 version.
The dimensions of the large MG are 4949mm/1761mm/1421mm, the wheelbase is 2949mm.
