MG6 Magnette TSE ordered

AFter having an Mg6 GT SE on loan for a month, I took the plunge last week and ordered an MG6 Magnette TSE in union Blue.

Delivery date is 10th Dec, I cannot wait

I like it too, although I'm not sure why its called "Union" as it doesn't seem to match the Union Flag and it looks very like the Chinese Lake Blue MGs!

By the way, will you be keeping the 85th? In fact, have they sorted the problems? So far on my TF LE the r.p.sensors are playing up again, but otherwise all good at 21k miles.

All problems have been sorted but as Sue is expecting I am going to p/ex the TF 85th, I know I will miss it but the MG 6 makes more sense for the time being.

Only a few days left now until I pick up my MG6, had a call saying that the car had come off the line and was being PDI tested ready for me to pick up on Saturday. I will be putting my private plate on retention as this time of the year it could delay me picking my new car up

Just a comment on the MG6 sales, I am surprised at only 7 sales, the MG sales centre had sold half this number.
But I do have a theory when I was insuring my new car when I said MG they said they could not trace it , so I told them to search MG Motor UK, this was found, is this the reason why sales appear so low, some vehicles being registered as just MG (possibly just TF's)and the others as MG Motor UK (and appearing in the other british). I did suggest this on .org but got accused as being just a fanboy dreaming up excuses....

I'm not sure if they would appear in Other British or Other Imports as I can't see a definition of what an import is but neither group has a particularly significant number in anyway - 66 and 57 and they are only slightly up on last year - 51 and 52 so if they have fallen in there then there still aren't many of them.

I guess it is quite possible they aren't in the table at all! It wouldn't be a big surprise to me, I might expect MG to have sorted it out by now but as people are still having difficulty insuring them with similar problems to the first TF LE500s, maybe the only cars in the table are the ones registered by the factory by going down to the post office and the ones the dealers register using the computer link to DVLA all go missing...

Edit: Good to see Lotus have sold a few cars this month, the total of 4 for last month was a bit

I know what you mean I saw the TSE that Red Devil has currently when I dropped the twist of pepper alloy wheels off on saturday, looks really good in white.

I will drop you an e-mail with my details on including my membership number so I can be added to the MG6 Register

Currently like a 5 year old waiting for Christmas

I work in insurance and I was able to give the ABI code to my insurers, as the only Magnette he could find under MG was a 1500

The other problem is the ABI look up as if it registered as an MG then it cannot equate the correct group so be wary of comparrision websites.

The final problem is the MG6 only has a 1-50 group schedule so defaults to a group 20 if the insurer is still running the old 1-20 group schedule.

But if 7 MGs are registered, these couldn't all be TFs, could they?

I know someone was looking at a website to determine how many ZS180s are on the road. I looked at my V5 and it doesn't have my 180 down as a 180.

As for that website - it says that there are 80 MG6 and 708 MG Magnette

I drilled down into the howmanyleft file and discovered it was for the 2nd quarter only of 2011 about two months ago, and that said 86 of them.

If it runs up to the end of June (end of second quater) then it about matches the new registration figures.

The service we received from Ian and Simon at the MG Sales centre was very good, highly reccomended, and the car is truly fantastic

... and very clean!

It will be interesting to see what comments you get about the colour after the previous one, seems a very stylish colour to me but there are very few cars about that are anything like it.


How well is the rear number plate attached? I guess it must have sticky pads as well as the two screws?
