Great Wall opened Bulgarian factory Feb 2012

Just noted this as the German press is reviewing the year. I note:

Great Wall this week [February 2012] became the first Chinese automobile manufacturer to open an automobile assembly plant inside the European Union

err interesting if the German press is not aware of Birmingham...

Great Wall is China's largest manufacturer of sports-utility vehicles and operates plants in around a dozen countries, including Russia, Indonesia, Egypt and Ukraine.

Or a "Manufacturer of British Automobiles" !

Or maybe Longbridge doesn't count since they didn't open it, just re-opened it?

Those GW factories are all pure Kit assembly, like MG's new Thailand plant.
