MG Motor UK predicting further growth after rising sales in 2013 (Birmingham Post)

MG has predicted a buoyant 2013 following a year which saw it become the fastest growing British automotive brand in the UK.

Last year was a record for MG with more cars sold in the UK than in 2010 and 2011 combined. It was the best year for MG sales in Britain since 2006.

World-wide the MG brand is growing at a faster rate than any time in its 89-year history. MG is owned by SAIC Motor, China’s largest automotive company and the eight largest in the world. There are now 190 MG dealers in China and modern MG’s are sold in more than 40 countries throughout the world.
    I counted 38. Recount!

A to do is a spreadsheet of the countries with importer's name, models on offer and sales.

Then I could pin it here:

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/207763732670162/

    I had this:

As at 22/11/12: 38 countries with MG dealers (* with MG3) (SAIC's categories):
    http://www.saicmg.com/english/guide/dealerquery.html#bom

Latin America 9 (8*): Chile*; Peru*; Uruguay*; Brazil*; Bolivia(*?); Costa Rica*; Aruba*; Dominican Republic*; Panama.

Africa 8 (4*): Ghana*; Nigeria*; Algeria*; Egypt*; Senegal; Morocco; Sudan; South Africa.

Middle East 10 (2*): Saudi Arabia*; Oman; UAE; Syria; Lebanon; Jordan; Kuwait; Iran; Iraq; Bahrain*.

CIS 3 (1*): Belarus*; Azerbaijan; Ukraine.

Asia Pacific 5 (1*): Israel; Laos*; Cambodia; North Korea; New Zealand.

Plus 3 (2*) - on map not categorised China*; UK. And omitted from map Colombia*.

Australia and Vietnam are not on that list... though I doubt Australian sales will happen soon...

NB I continue to count Aruba as a country because SAIC do...

Aruba is as much a country as England and Wales, but less of one than the Isle of Man which has it's own passport while Aruba shares the Dutch passport as part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. (The Isle of Man is not part of the UK)

Wonder when you will be able to add the Isle of Man to the list...

even if it counted as Netherlands the total number of countries would not change. I hope developments this year mean exports to the Netherlands begin, however... Wink

I see Mylchreests was pre-2005. Didn't someone sell new TFs on the island briefly?

I thought they did but not sure - I was going to suggest the count should be 41!

I thought Mylchreests was still an MG dealer on the Isle - they were when I was there last year
