Re: September sales figures
All MG is 104 apparently, not broken down. Surely over half that is MG6, what a lot!adaveabbott wrote:

Thank's for the swift reply. Most of the MG6 sales will be from Motor Point.

Re: September sales figures
Are they not sales to Motor Point? I got the impression that MG were registering them rather than Motor Point doing it.adaveabbott wrote:

New Zealand at zero for the 4th month in a row!
Not seen any other figures yet...

Re: September sales figures
The figures are for new registrations. So although a car is not actually properly sold until driven away from Motorpoint, it counts as a sale when registered and Motorpoint get it.Windy wrote:Are they not sales to Motor Point? Re: September sales figures
It will be Motorpoint, although they may use some other trading name or associated company to disguise the fact on the registration documents. My last car was registered to a dealer first but it was quite clear on the documents that they hadn't used it so it didn't affect the resale value other than to show that it wasn't fresh out of the factory and had been sitting around for a while when first used. I guess it also gives a clue that it might not be a latest specification at the time but one they are trying to get rid of.patpending wrote:I wonder who shows as the first owner?

Re: September sales figures
They surely can't keep on making pre-facelift MG6 bits for a handful of RHD sales. Wonder when we get the facelift 6?

Re: September sales figures
Chinese sales for September:
MG+Roewe: 20,696, total for the year so far 156,179 up 15.50% on last year.
Maxus: 1,003 - first time above 1K, total for the year 7,575 up 53.65% on last year.
I also see that Maxus showed up in the Chile company (not private) vehicle figures for the first time (August figures) with 5 V80 vans, 0.1% of the market - seems to include pick up trucks but not busses and HGVs.

Re: September sales figures
Was wondering about South Africa and came across news of their strikes:
http://bestsellingcarsblog.com/2013/10/07/south-africa-september-2013-ford-ecosport-up-to-13/
The strike is now over, but have they actually won or have they destroyed their jobs?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-24367675
Now that is an impressive strike! However exports have been brought to a grinding halt: down 75% to just 6,622 units this month, and this is starting to affect the future of the car manufacturing industry in South Africa. 72,000 workers are on strike at the Toyota, Volkswagen, Ford, Nissan, Mercedes and BMW SA plants, and BMW has already confirmed it will be seriously considering the future of manufacture in the country…

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-24419570The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa accepted a 10% pay rise this year and 8% in the next two years.
The strike in the car components industry caused severe disruption, especially to exports.
Last week BMW said it had stopped "all future plans" to expand in South Africa because of the industrial action.
On Sunday, Mr Jim said BMW's decision to stop future investment was "blackmail" which would be "rejected with the contempt it deserves".
