[Land Rover and] MG UK sales soar during September

Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders figures show that MG UK sold 357 cars in the UK last month, and is on target for its record sales year since the Chinese-owned company launched in 2008, with 1,850 cars sold so far in 2014 compared to 504 for the same period last year.
MG spokesman Guy Jones said: “The MG3 has been a real shot in the arm for us. It is a Fiesta-sized car for under £10,000 and is our most successful model so far.
“We now have 53 dealers. With the addition of the MG3, it has enabled us to continue to add to the dealer network – the business is in a lot stronger position coming to the end of this year.”
Of the 1,850 MGs sold so far this year, around 1,400 were MG3s, with the remainder MG6 models.
