Okay, I know these cars aren't available brand new now, but I was wondering, now that I have just purchased a top of the range (for the time being) MG6 TSE, how it compares price wise with those models and the 45 and the 75 when they were still being built at Longbridge.

Re: What price a brand new ZS or ZT?
in 2003, a Mk1 ZS180 was €25k discounted in Germany - maybe £18k at then exchange rates.
The MG6 is a bigger car with a lot of kit and, despite `gripes' about the engine, has only a little less oomph than the 180.
The 420GSi Tourer was £16k in 1996 without ABS or aircon.
With inflation, if it is reliable, the MG6 is significantly better value for money.

Although MG will be increasing the price of the MG6 once it is a bit more established. But it is indeed a great deal of car for your money

Re: What price a brand new ZS or ZT?
I know I've read in a few places that the retail launch prices were set before the VAT increase and that they will go up at some point to reflect that.Dynamo wrote:richardk wrote:Although MG will be increasing the price of the MG6 once it is a bit more established.

Did I also read that people with contracts for red ones would be sitting on a goldmine?
No.
Sorry.
MG Motor UK has indicated that the MG6′s current prices will be increased after the initial launch period (from 1 June, 2011?) and, in view of the improvements to the range, those prices are likely to be increased again with the introduction of the MY13 models in a gradual shift upmarket.
