    Currently, the BTCC is the only competition where MG is officially now. There is not even a racing MG in China! The current contract with Triple Eight runs until the end of the year. The manufacturer took the opportunity at the opening round at Brands Hatch , to lift a corner of the veil on its plans in 2014. The big news is the return to WRC. The manufacturer has a long history in rallying. MG Metro Turbo Group B MG ZR S1600, without forgetting the MG B private or ephemeral MG3 S1600. In 2014, will produce MG S2000, based on the MG3, for WRC-2. One way to mark the occasion for the arrival of MG in continental Europe, also in 2014.
    Who will make it? Will there be a road version of the racing MG3? For now, information is scarce. Moreover, in the sketch, the MG3 has a "Chinese" front end (the European version, launched this summer will be different as already seen .)

    In addition, there will be a Triple Eight "B" team. The current LHD MG6 BTCC will be "recycled". In 2014, Jason Plato and Sam Tordoff will have two new cars. The former will therefore be entrusted to the sister team (and driven by pupils of the KX Momentum Academy?)

    The MG3 as pictured doesn't have the Chinese front end, it has the Zero front end.

    I found those pics on the Chinese version of goolge (baidu?!) over a year ago.

    I'm not sure if you realise but I think the original article was an April Fools joke - its been updated with "Updated: April 1st, we like to explore a bit around to see the reality of what could happen there ... On 2 April 2013, MG has not announced its participation in the WRC."

    Yeah thats it - built for the German race series but never got there. 380bhp or something silly, it looks much like that artists impression and in full X-Power colours.

    I think Dreadnought garage bought a DTM ZT body shell that MGR had built but not completed, they then built it up with a V8 engine and one of their own superchargers to build the 500bhp Dreadnought race car which they raced for a year or so and then "gave" to the Longbridge visitor centre. They were intending to run some MG6s in the BTCC, guess they may yet run an MG second team although there doesn't seem to be any space left in the BTCC grid!

    2008 was my first year of MGLive.
    Was racing there.
