    SAIC-led R & D TST6-speed dual-clutch gearbox , this transmission will also be used for the new Roewe 550 SAIC's vehicle models.     Not sure what GM have to do with the transmission, it must be the SAIC-Borg Warner unit. Maybe they are selling it to GM in payment for the chassis technology.

    So the old Rover 75 finally dies?

    And the replacement is based on a Buick LaCrosse? One wonders where it will come to the UK - and whether Longbridge had any input into it.

    US platforms worry me - the Jaguar S-Type didn't cover itself with much glory did it?

    Also I must say the 750 looks like a Merc/Audi mashup.

    I wouldn't take too much notice of those images, the MG looks a little like the very first MG6 images, the end result will be quite different.

    As for the platform, the 950 has been well received partly because it is derived from a GM platform which sort of makes it acceptable for Chinese government officials to use! Not sure how much is carried over though, I suspect it may be little more than the suspension components.

    I see that by 2016 Opel will have replaced 80% of its engines. (auto, motor + sport)
