Not a bad little car that.
Ought to have a Morris badge on it, then we can have it in the UK. Why ISN'T it here? There aren't any horror stories surrounding it, like there are the MG5 etc.

Horror stories have an interesting way of getting around. First someone says them. Then they get repeated. Then the stories are growing! Then the stories are true.
The 350 and the 5 are closely linked (the 5 is a 350 with a hatch).
The 350 makes up about half the MG and Roewe sales in China all by itself (say 8,000 sold every month, or around the same annually as all Audis sold in the UK in 2010) - no horror stories there. But its 3-box saloon design is a more popular shape for Eastern Europe than here TBH.
And why Morris?

And what would a Morris badge look like? I don't think an Ox fording a river would be appropriate...patpending wrote:

Morris because there is scope for a softer MG; and I think MGs themselves need to be 'hardened' up a bit. The MG6 isn't a match for a ZS180 or fully sorted ZT; it's not got that raw edge (mainly due to the one engine option and so few bodywork/kit options). Roewe would sound too weird to the British and remind them of just how foreign an MG is nowadays. Morris is a trademark owned by SAIC and is also plastered across their overseas dealer networks. It just makes sense.
Also it would avoid much of the cost of reworking the 350 to suit the 'western' idea of the MG brand, For example, the 350 and the 6 wouldn't sit too well together in a dealership as they have a different style due to the 350 being a cheaply worked-over Roewe. A Morris version would be quicker and more practical.
Also the 350 and the 5 don't outwardly look similar; the 350 is quite a chunky, striking car with a look of a mini-BMW whereas the 5 is more anonymous. I prefer the 350.

The Morris badge was redesigned by BMC when it became clear that many Morris models were being made overseas and at Longbridge.
Of course this one has effectively been hijacked by Nissan now..
