Just seen in today's Autocar (17.7.13) that Steve Cropley has collected a MG6 diesel (it looks like a Magnette from the photo) for the Autocar long term test fleet. Steve has been a supporter of all things Rover and MG for many years, so hopefully we will read some balanced reviews of its progress over the coming weeks and months, without any stalling at traffic lights..!

I hope it does stall at traffic lights - it is a diesel with start stopDorset Rocket wrote:without any stalling at traffic lights..!
So far from his twitter the only comment is that he preferred the non-electric steering in the petrol.

That's just a comment from a follower about the power steering isn't it?!

First impressions are the most important and that sounds like a good first impression!snifferdog1 wrote:600 miles so far according to Twitter, and he seems very pleased.
600mi in my new MG6 diesel. Good, so far. Terrific equipment, smooth+torquey engine, decent chassis, odd switchgear. Think we can be friends

Twitter update:
- MG6 diesel gradually winning friends at Autocar.
- Big stuff (engine, g'box, chassis) all decent.
- Equipment amazing.
- Switchgear weird, though

Perhaps we will see the first long term report for the MG6 in Autocar the same week they publish their first UK spec MG3 test, to give a bit of an MG theme to the week. Not long to wait now I expect..
