Why have a Shanghai story in the UK News section?

Well, as hinted to by AROnline, we should expect some significant UK related news on Monday...

AROnline wrote:Eleanor De La Haye, MG Motor UK Limited’s Corporate Communications Manger, confirmed that production of the TF 135 will commence on Monday and that both the standard TF 135 and the 85th Anniversary edition are to be unveiled during the MG UK-sponsored Royal Windsor MG Heritage Festival on the 24th and 25th April, 2009.

With all the rumours spread around by the press recently, its hard to remember that the contents of that quote are not news but just confirmation of what MG UK has stated in the past. For now we have to wait, there is a countdown clock to watch at MGs China website: http://www.saicmg.com/autoshow_2009sh/index1.html

    loving the countdown clock.

I've e-mailed Keith to mention that E de la H is a manager, not a manger (implying she's full of hay?) Laughing

With all the different rumours flying around, and even SAIC quoted as saying their UK factories have been closed temporarily, it's a great time for good news... which will presumably be announced in our night...

yes, the "byline" is Clive Goldthorp.

Talking Shanghai News, the BBC F1 coverage opened with some Chinese sentences about Year of the Ox.

Could it be that in Chinese "Ox" sounds a bit like "Neeeyowwwmmm!"? Or is that just me? Very Happy

Auspicious sound for a new MG...

    Translation:

2009 - The year of the Ox.
This is the year of opportunity.
    The Ox is strong,
But knows strength alone is not enough.
He is wise and above all bold.
    The Ox signifies new beginnings,
And only those who embrace the spirit of the Ox will prosper.

Let us hope that MG, as a company, embraces the spirit of the Ox and prospers, hopefully it will become clear on Monday if it has...

yes, I was reading the English and listening to the Chinese. Which is how I said "mmm. I bet that's the word for "Ox"(!)" Wink

In the last sentence the "nyeeowm" was actually near the beginning in the Chinese...
