Review in Autocar Empty Review in Autocar

Post by Podders Sat Dec 28, 2013 3:11 am

    Hello.

I happened to read an excellent review of the MG3 in the current Autocar, but can't seem to find this online. Would anyone here happen to have a link?

    Thank you.

I dont think it will be available online until a while after its printed in the magazine.

I also read the piece in WH Smiths yesterday (Im too tight to buy the mag  Laughing ) and was very impressed.

For those that havent seen it - it basically says that the MG3 should be ranked in the top 10 superminis - and that is on merit, not just the fact that its 4K cheaper.

I don't think the road tests are published online. They do post car reviews online but these seem different. There's one for the MG6 (you can search for this on their homepage) but none has been published online for the MG3 yet.

I too must say how impressed I was with the positivity of the Autocar review.

The last sentence of the Autocar verdict is an excellent quote that MG should use to the full in future marketing. Something positive to take forward into what I hope will be a great new year for MG and this MGUK site. Happy New Year!

My favourite line is 'No £9000 car has any right to handle as keenly as this.'

"That makes the range-topping 3Style – a car with cruise control, automatic lights and wipers and reverse parking sensors – appear better at face value than not just the Polo, Clio, Fiesta, Ibiza, Corsa et al but also much of the opposition in the city car segment below. The sub-£9000, full-sized supermini market consists of the Proton Satria Neo and Dacia Sandero – and neither offers anything like the sporting appeal of this car. For the record, the MG 3 beats the Dacia in our book – and makes it look pretty ordinary in the process."

Comparing the recent reviews to the early ones, I'm wondering what they will be like by the time the MG CS arrives...

     Cheers

Its certainly really positive - even the weak points are explained in a way that makes them something you can live with.

I'd say the European CS and/or MG5 have a lot to live up to now.
